Keep it festive while staying healthy with my favorite protein drink around the holidays! Easy to make, big boost of protein to keep you fuller longer, helps with muscle recovery post-workout, and you still get your caffeine jolt. Also a low sugar option!

Makes one serving

- 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder (I like Ascent vanilla bean)
- 1 cup cold brew or iced coffee (I like Starbucks or STōK brand cold brew)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2-3 Tablespoons Chobani Peppermint Mocha creamer OR 1 teaspoon mint flavoring (no sugar option)

- In a shaker cup or a blender cup, add all ingredients and shake or blend together until smooth. Drink immediately.

- If it feels too thick for you, you can always add some more almond milk or cold brew/iced coffee to thin it out more. Really make it how you like it!
- If it’s thick or chunky when you shake it, consider blending instead! Or try using a frother. They act as a mini blender and smooth everything out.
- If you only want a little bit of mint flavor, only use 1-2 Tablespoons of creamer, or 1/2 teaspoon of mint flavoring. The mint flavoring especially can be a bit strong, so start out small if you aren’t sure and add more if it’s not enough.
- I prefer vanilla protein over chocolate because I think the mint flavor comes out more, so if you use chocolate protein powder and are underwhelmed, add a bit more of your creamer or mint flavor.
- Chobani creamer is a dairy based creamer and is not sugar free. If you want a sugar free option, you’ll want to use the mint flavoring which you can find in most baking aisles at the grocery store.
You can easily use the base of this recipe and change up the flavors if you don’t love mint. For example, using the same measurements, you could swap out the mint flavor for about 1/4 teaspoon of almond flavor and you’ll have a protein drink that tastes like sugar cookies.
Or using the vanilla protein powder, add in some cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg for a gingerbread tasting drink!
Like your eggnog? Sub eggnog for the almond milk and you’ve got a protein boosted holiday bev!
I love Christmas and I’ll take every opportunity to make it a little more merry, especially in the mundane routine of everyday life, like drinking my post-workout protein. Who says we can’t make the boring stuff festive too?!
