Immunity Boost Juice Shots

Immunity Boost Juice Shots

We’re winding down on the warm months and heading into the -ber’s, which means our immune systems are going to need some added protection against flu season. Especially with the kiddos heading back to school! Easy to make and one daily is all you need for an added boost against sickness!

Prep time: 5 minutes

Make time: 5 minutes

Total time: 10 minutes

Makes about 2-3 shots per recipe

Apple Cider Vinegar Shot (boosts immunity + gut health)

  • 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne or black pepper
  • 6 Tablespoons water (or coconut water for added electrolytes/hydration)

Berry Shot (boosts immunity)

  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries or raspberries
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Pineapple Shot (for gut health + inflammation + anxiety)

  • 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger root (1 inch), peeled and chopped) *you can use ginger powder but it will taste slightly flatter than fresh
  • 1/4 cup fresh or frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 cup water (or coconut water for added electrolytes/hydration)

Equipment needed:

  • Blender
  • Strainer
  • 2 oz glass shot bottles (with lids)

Apple Cider Vinegar Shot

  • Stir all ingredients in a glass or bowl and divide between 2-3 shot glasses

Berry Shot

  • Pour 1/2 cup hot water over 1/4 cup berries and let sit covered for 20 minutes.
  • Strain berries, keep liquid.
  • Add lemon juice to liquid.
  • Divide between shot glasses.

Pineapple Shot

  • Wash the ginger and chop roughly, or measure out powder.
  • Blend all ingredients together. Strain and save liquid.
  • Use the liquid as your shots.
  • I like to double (or triple) the recipe for each of these to make a week’s worth at a time, especially if there is anything going around.
  • For the berry shot, you can also use Goji berries, but they are harder for me to find, so I usually just do fresh or frozen blueberries or fresh raspberries.

My husband laughs at the irony that these are the shots we take in our thirties versus our twenties 😉

I love them for when I’m cleaning up my eating, and especially during the fall and winter months as an added boost of immunity.

These shots are definitely not made with kiddos in mind, but if you can get your kiddo to drink one with you, it’s an extremely clean and easy way to give them a boost of nutrients too. And since it’s only 2 oz, you’ve got a pretty good shot (pun intended) at getting them to at least try it.

Wishing you all a healthy start to the school year and as few germs as possible making their way into your immune system!

Until next time,
