St. Patrick’s Green Themed Activities for Kiddos

We’re officially in March and with St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, we’re doing some fun themed activities leading up to the lucky day! There are worksheets, hands-on, arts & crafts, and even a couple of fun and easy recipes.

I’ll be honest, St. Patrick’s Day is not exactly my favorite holiday. But I love a theme, and so does my four year old, so we’re going to do some fun themed activities this month for some festive green fun!

First, we’ll be incorporating some worksheets into our daily activities.

Instead of doing individual PDFs as I normally do, I’ve combined all the themed worksheets into one PDF this time, for less clicks and an easier download in one spot. There are six total worksheets in the one PDF.

As per usual with these, the PDF is available for you to download below, or you may use the link to my Canva account at the end of the post, totally free to you.

This next activity is a St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt. Print out all the pages and use the three pages of pieces to cut out and tape around your house. Your kiddos can go around and find the pictures using the Scavenger Hunt Checklist and mark them off as they go. Print out as many checklist pages as you need so all of your kiddos can play along (and even you!).

If you need a Leprechaun Letter, something that “proves” Lucky the Leprechaun visited your house, here is a cute printable so that you don’t have to hand-write one and risk being detected because they recognize your handwriting. Just don’t forget to grab it off the printer before curious eyes see it!

If your kiddos love arts and crafts, here are some fun and fairly easy craft projects using things most of us have around the house.

For the purpose of multiple other activities, I’m also including a shamrock template. Just one, large shamrock that can be printed out multiple times or for multiple purposes.

Some fun blank canvas ideas:

  • Shamrock balance beam–print out one and trace out several patterns onto green construction paper, cut out, and tape to the floor for kiddos to “balance” on.
  • Q Tip Painted Shamrock–Print out a shamrock and dip Q Tips into different shades of green paint to dab onto the shamrock for a fun, spotted look.
  • Decorated Shamrock–Print out or trace a shamrock and let your kids’ creativity run wild letting them decorate it however they choose.
  • Pet Painted Shamrock–Put a couple drops of paint all over a cut out shamrock and insert into a Ziploc bag. Add peanut butter, catnip, or whatever will get your pet to lick or walk on the closed baggie to move the paint around as if they “painted” the shamrock.

Here are a few fun, green themed recipes for some extra fun on St. Patty’s Day! Bonus: I’ve also included a few that are clean, healthy, and dye free. Also keep in mind that just about any of your normal, everyday foods can be made green by either adding some spinach or a few drops of green food coloring (i.e., pancakes, waffles, milk, cookies, cake, etc.).
