Valentine’s Day Worksheets

Valentine’s Day Worksheets

Keep the toddlers in your life busy long enough to sneak a piece of chocolate with these Heart’s Day activities! Great for ages 3-5.

I love a theme, so any chance I get you can bet I’ll be serving up holiday related daily activities to my toddler.

(Unrelated Side Note: She just turned four years old, can I still call her a toddler? What’s the cutoff for the word “toddler” anyway? Hey, Siri, remind me to Google “toddler age” later…)

The lineup today is a little more fun than educational since there’s usually a lot of excitement around holidays, so I like to keep things a little lighter but still engaging.

We’re also coming off of a busy week with Viv’s birthday and her celebration this upcoming weekend, so I leaned into simplicity. A couple of things she can do herself once I get her started, so that I can sneak a couple of minutes to load the dishwasher or continue my grocery order (while sneaking a chocolate).

There are five activities here that are great for the age group of 3-5, and you might even be able to get away with entertaining some older kiddos with them too.

First up, Valentine’s I-Spy. Six pictures jumbled up for them to find and count, and to write the number in each box. Or have them say out loud how many they found to save paper and ink.

Next is a line tracing activity. This one is a little more time consuming than ones I’ve done in the past, but I love how the funky lines are all inside hearts. I also like that once they’re done tracing lines, they can color the hearts. There’s some pops of color on this one, but you can always print in black and white to save ink.

Next, a color-by-number of a cute teddy bear. Viv has been loving these lately and I love that the activity itself requires number identification, colors, following directions, and some motor skills with coloring and staying in the lines.

We love a maze activity around here, so I’ve included a short, simple maze. This is another one that is meant to be printed out but if you don’t have a printer, or you’re out of ink, you could easily do this one digitally too.

Last is a worksheet to have the littles design and color their own Valentines to give out. If I know one thing, it’s how much little ones want to be included in activities their older siblings (or in Viv’s case, her cousins) are doing in school if they aren’t school age yet.

This is a fun way to have them get to do an exchange with family members, neighbors, friends, or anyone! These can simply be colored, or using other art supplies they can certainly be fancier.

Whatever you’re doing this Valentine’s day, I hope your day is filled with love and gratitude. And chocolate.
