Writing: Upper Case + Lower Case Letters

Time: 5 minutes per page, 70 minutes total, per activity

Age: 3-6

I went in search of an activity that would help my toddler feel more comfortable holding a pencil and writing letters. She loves her daily activities, but when it comes to writing she throws a fit every time we try to teach her something new.

These letter activities have three steps: Say the letter, trace it with your finger, then write it by following the arrows to form the letter.

Breaking it down step by step instead of having her get frustrated trying to figure out how to start writing her letters has been really helpful in boosting her confidence with writing.

Hopefully you find it helpful too!

There are two separate activity sets: upper case and lower case. Each one may be downloaded to print out for your little ones to practice their writing and they are already in black/white/grey tones so we aren’t using expensive color ink.

If you prefer to use a link over a download, just click here to access lower case letters and here to access upper case letters through my Canva account for the exact same thing, totally free.

If your little one isn’t quite ready to start writing yet, you could also have them just practice letter recognition, saying the letter, and then tracing the letter with their finger. This would also not require any printing. We’ve done it both ways.

Hoping your found this helpful,
