Loaded Baked Potato Dip

Loaded Baked Potato Dip

Great for the holidays or a football game, this dip is addicting! Serve with potato chips or step it up with waffle fries. Either way, you can’t go wrong!

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Chill Time: 1 hour

Total Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes

Makes enough for about 8-10 people

  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3-4 green onions, sliced + garnish
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 10 slices cooked crispy bacon
  • Salt + pepper, to taste
  • Waffle fries or potato chips, for dipping
  • In a medium bowl, mix together sour cream, shredded cheese, green onions, and hot sauce.
  • Crumble 8 bacon slices into the bowl and stir into the mixture.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Refrigerate for one hour before serving.
  • Garnish with remaining crumbled bacon and additional green onion.
  • Serve with warm waffle fries or potato chips.
  • You can buy pre-cooked bacon at the store and heat it up to make it crispy versus baking it from raw if you want to save some time.
  • You don’t *have* to refrigerate it before serving. I have set it out right away after making it (especially when my bacon isn’t hot) and it’s still very good.
  • Speaking of, if you do want to serve it right away without it being a little softer, cool your bacon before crumbling it into the dip so you can go straight to table.
  • We’ve done this with waffle fries and potato chips, and both are great, but chips are easier. Waffle fries are great, but they cool down fast so you almost have to eat your fill right away. I like a hearty kettle potato chips best.

Whether you’re making this for a get together, football Sunday, or just to snack on, you’re in for a delightful appetizer that’s easy to make and even easier to eat. It also keeps well for a couple of days in the fridge so you can go back for more (if you happen to still have some left!). I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do!
