Cranberry Mimosa

Cranberry Mimosa

I love champagne on holidays, but I get sick of orange juice. This is a fun holiday spin that is the perfect festive color and flavor for Christmas breakfast, brunch, or to sip on while watching everyone take turns opening all those gifts.

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Total Time: 2 minutes

Makes 2 drinks

  • 1/2 cup (4 oz) cranberry juice, not cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 cup (8 oz) sparkling wine, champagne or prosecco
  • Sugar, for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh cranberries, for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary sprig, for garnish (optional)
  • Rim two champagne glasses with a little water and then dip in sugar.
  • Pour 1/4 cup cranberry juice in each champagne glass
  • Add 1/2 cup sparkling wine to each glass.
  • Top with any garnish and serve immediately.
  • For a lower sugar option, you do not have to dip the glasses in sugar. And you certainly don’t need champagne flutes to enjoy this festive cocktail. Use whatever glassware you have on hand.
  • The measurements are just a guideline. If you like more bubbly, use less cranberry juice. If you like less bubbly, use more cranberry juice.
  • Cranberry and orange are complimentary flavors, so if you want to use orange slices as a garnish, or even in your drink, you wouldn’t be ruining your cocktail, in my opinion.
  • I personally love a rosemary sprig for garnish because it looks pretty and Christmas-y without getting in the way too much when I take a drink, like cranberries can do.

Obviously this is an adult beverage, so I recommend checking out the Christmas Punch recipe for a kid friendly holiday beverage option or mocktail. Whichever you decide to try out, I hope you enjoy!
