My kitchen is rarely without these. They make a great snack on the go, and my toddler loves them too!
Prep time: 15 minutes Set time: 30 minutes Total time: 45 minutes
Makes approximately 30 balls

- 2-1/2 cups oatmeal (I use quick oats)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup honey (not clover honey)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2-3/4 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips or M&Ms

- Medium bowl
- Mixing spoon
- 1 cup measuring cup
- 1/2 cup measuring cup
- 1 tsp measuring spoon

- In a large bowl, add oatmeal and protein powder and stir to combine.
- Add peanut butter, honey, and vanilla. Mix together until combined into a thick mixture.
- Add the mini chocolate chips and mix in until combined.
- Using a small spoon, put a small amount of mixture into your hand and roll into a ball.
- Place on a cookie sheet. Repeat until all mixture is gone.
- Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until balls are set and less sticky. Store in airtight container for up to a week. Do not need to be refrigerated, but may be if they are sticky or you prefer them cold.

- I typically use 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips over M&M’s. You could also use M&M Minis. I usually use mini chocolate chips. Not only are they cheaper, but my toddler also eats these all the time and we try and limit foods with dyes in them.
- I mentioned above not to use clover honey. It is usually cheaper than raw honey, but the flavor is slightly different and is not as good in this recipe because the flavor tends to dominate.
- The size of the balls are totally up to you. I like to make mine about 2 inches in diameter. If you use M&Ms you’ll need to make them slightly larger to accommodate the size of the candy versus mini chocolate chips.
